Intro on Modules

  1. UI/UX Design: User Interface (UI) is anything a user may interact with to use a digital product or service. This includes everything from screens and touchscreens, keyboards, sounds, and even lights.
User Experience (UX), evolved as a result of the improvements to UI. Once there was something for users to interact with, their experience, whether positive, negative, or neutral, changed how users felt about those interactions.
  1. Basics of Designing (What is Design): Design is a way for us to deliver deep meaning to our customers through the experiences we craft. Design isn’t just about making things look appealing, or just about usability, or even just delight. It is about taking products from being usable to delightful, and then beyond that to meaningful.
  1. Designing Elements (Adobe XD, Uses, what are the Tools):  Adobe XD is a powerful, collaborative, easy-to-use platform that helps you and your team create designs for websites, mobile apps, voice interfaces, games and more. XD delivers dozens of powerful features to help teams design, prototype, share, and collaborate on rich user experiences. Go from basic wireframes to beautiful designs in no time. Define the look of your user interfaces with vector drawing tools, colors, character styles, grids, guides, and more.
  1. Concept of Designing (Visual Design, Importance of UX): Visual design is the use of imagery, color, shapes, typography, and form to enhance usability and improve the user experience.  UX is important because it tries to fulfill the user’s needs. It aims to provide positive experiences that keep users loyal to the product or brand. Additionally, a meaningful user experience allows you to define customer journeys on your website that are most conducive to business success.
  1. How to Create Wireframes (Designing Priority): A Priority Guide includes the content and elements for a mobile screen sorted by hierarchy from top to bottom without any layout specifications. The hierarchy is determined based on how relevant content is to the user with the most critical content listed at the top. The format of a priority guide is not fixed: it can be digital or it can be physical.
  1. Colour Scheme (Monochrome, Analogous, Complementary): Color can be the second most important aspect of an app other than functionality. It helps users see and interpret an app’s content, interact with the right elements, and understand actions. Every app has a color scheme, the primary colors it uses for its main areas. When designing a new app, it’s often difficult to decide on a color scheme that works well for it, since there are an infinite number of possible color combinations out there.
  1. HTML/ HTML5: HTML is the most commonly used markup language ㅡ a system designed to process, define, and present text by embedding tag and text annotations within styled files to make text manipulation easy for the computer. In 2014, an update for this language titled HTML5 was released.
  1. CSS/ CSS3: Web applications play a very important role in today’s world. Internet taking over almost everything needs designer web pages. The role of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is hence very important. CSS works together with HTML and provides a basic style and structure. It defines how the HTML elements will look like on the web page. CSS3 is the latest version of CSS. It provides JavaScript like capabilities and mobile development features. It also has additional features like images, gradient, transition, etc.
  1. Bootstrap: Build responsive, mobile-first projects on the web with the world’s most popular front-end component library. Bootstrap is an open source toolkit for developing with HTML, CSS, and JS. Quickly prototype ideas or build an entire app with Sass variables and mixins, responsive grid system, extensive prebuilt components, and powerful plugins built on jQuery.
  1. Java Script: JavaScript® (often shortened to JS) is a lightweight, interpreted, object-oriented language with first-class functions, and is best known as the scripting language for Web pages, but it’s used in many non-browser environments as well. It is a prototype-based, multi-paradigm scripting language that is dynamic, and supports object-oriented, imperative, and functional programming styles.
  1. jQuery: jQuery is a lightweight, “write less, do more”, JavaScript library. It is a fast, small, and feature-rich JavaScript library. It makes things like HTML document traversal and manipulation, event handling, animation, and Ajax much simpler with an easy-to-use API that works across a multitude of browsers. With a combination of versatility and extensibility, jQuery has changed the way that millions of people write JavaScript.
  1. Angular JS: AngularJS is a JavaScript framework written in JavaScript. It is distributed as a JavaScript file and can be added to an HTML page with a <script> tag. AngularJS extends HTML attributes with Directives, and binds data to HTML with Expressions.
  1. React JS: ReactJS (React or React.js) is an open-source JavaScript library which is used for building user interfaces specifically for single page applications. It’s used for handling view layer for web and mobile apps. React also allows us to create reusable UI components. React allows developers to create large web applications which can change data, without reloading the page. The main purpose of React is to be fast, scalable, and simple. It can be used with a combination of other JavaScript libraries or frameworks, such as Angular JS.
  1. Create Animated Prototypes: Adobe XD has evolved from a basic click-through application to providing you divergent prototyping options such as Time, Tap, Drag, and Voice. Designers can use auto-animate combined with drag gestures to create micro-interactions across art-boards for rich prototype experiences such as on-boarding flows, animations for carousels, cards and lists or progress indicators. Deceptively simple to use, auto-animate creates stunning effects and transitions that help you communicate an animated end user experience.
  1. Differences – iOS and Android Visual Design: Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS are operating systems used primarily in mobile technology, such as smartphones and tablets. Android, which is Linux-based and partly open source, is more PC-like than iOS, in that it’s interface and basic features are generally more customizable from top to bottom. However, iOS’ uniform design elements are sometimes seen as being more user-friendly.
  1. Projects: Real-time projects by our faculty are available for students to practice.
